The light outside became incredible as we drove to our initial location. The all day rain finally started to break with this amazing gold light. The rain was still coming down enough for me to worry about my gear. But I couldn't resist this scene. Pulled over and we hopped out
Two Women - 2005
Igmar Bergman remains a looming figure in my mind. I did think about him as I paired these two together. I talked with the girls as we shot, and we came up with a story along the way.
The Sheltering Skies - 2008
I executed this narrative with my great collaborator, Mitzi Gordon. I shot with Dustin on a street probably not very safe for us. But look at that wall! Mitzi and I were constantly looking for buildings that could feasibly exist in Morocco.

Head Dress #13 - 2008 I didn't intend to make this image at the beginning of my post work. I usually end up being too sentimental for too many images. This shot ended up hitting me hard the more I scrolled past it in the folder, the feeling in it. So this is an example of a concept that exists to serve the raw image I shot as opposed to me shooting a raw image to serve a concept. |

Medusa - 2007 Nudity is always an issue. Behavior is usually more careful, more sensitive, more aware. This model was a friend of mine at the time and her easiness and trust, having faith I would not exploit her, made it actually a touching experience (no pun intended - no actual touching). I didn't really know if I'd be able to make the snakes look good at that time. That's where I have to have faith in myself. And I'm happy I did and that I was rewarded.

Toy Girl - 2008 Very pleased with another show in faith in an idea that I wasn't sure would work. That being the marionette strings and the black lines for the segmented joints. Soliel, the model, did great work selling the idea. |
Cyborg - 2007 These are tests for a concept Tara and I will do later this year. People sometimes torment me with comparisons of this image to Resident Evil bullshit. *sigh* Maybe they mean to be flattering, I don't know, but the only movie Tara and I talked about here is Ghost In the Shell. |
