Rainbow Terror - 2008 This is meant to be part of a larger series that I have not had time to develop beyond this image and a few others. I plan to get to it this year. |
Middle Class Ophelia - 2007 My friend Tara modeled this during our first shoot in 2004, not knowing this is what I'd eventually conceived. I'm slow, but I get there. Tara disliked how I illustrated her nipples initially, so I let her point them where they now sit. |
Pun Shooter - 2009 Just having fun here, but I liked it enough to endure any eye rolling the "shooting" pun might cause. My collaborator, Mitzi, is fun to watch work, often looking to me like a kind of superhero as she contorts herself to various positions to get the angles she wants. Capturing that gives me some of my favorite pictures. |
Kissy Face - 2008 Another work I was slow to conceive after shooting. Finally used it for a flyer promoting an 80s fashion show organized by MJG. |
The Inky Black Heart of a Pig - 2007 This is one of my first works post cancer. I think my family had reservations for me doing this shirtless and showing myself in an unflattering way, but I didn't know how else to do it. I'm not entirely sure what I am saying about myself here. It just feels right. |
Head Dress Shot #7 - 2008 From one of my favorite series I've done. Probably the whole thing needs its own link and page. I'm proud of my work and the model's. |
A.M. KNIGHTS (album art) - 2009 Done by request of Bryan Thompson of the band in question. I was too busy to drive to Tampa and shoot him for this cover, so he graciously sent me an image he shot of himself. I like the modern look as well as the slightly campy feel that I'm hard pressed to put my finger on. It kind of just came together on its own as I worked on it. |

Olivia's Conscious - 2008 I get emails asking me about this work, usually about her hair. I wanted to have some sense of a narrative thread but without in any intentional sense to make sense. Because I found in other works that they don't work as well, don't let the mind function the way I want, when there are obvious footprints to lead you around in a mystery. One keeps to the front of one's brain rather than be swallowed up. That's what I want. |
